Frequently asked question

Treatment process

IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) is a process where eggs are collected from the woman’s ovaries and fertilized with sperm in a laboratory. The fertilized egg (embryo) is then transferred back into the uterus to achieve pregnancy.

  • The complete IVF cycle usually takes 4–6 weeks.

  • It includes ovarian stimulation, egg retrieval, fertilization, and embryo transfer.

  • The waiting period for pregnancy results is about 2 weeks after embryo transfer.

  • IVF involves mild discomfort rather than severe pain.

  • Egg retrieval is done under anesthesia, so you won’t feel pain during the procedure.

  • Some women experience slight cramping or bloating, which is temporary.

  • Usually, one or two embryos are transferred to maximize success rates while reducing the chance of multiple pregnancies.

  • The decision depends on your age, health condition, and doctor’s advice.

  • Extra embryos are frozen (cryopreserved) for future use.

  • They can be used in the next cycle if the first attempt is unsuccessful or for planning a second child.

  • You can also donate embryos to help other couples in need.
